I’m a native of San Francisco, CA. I grew up in the Bay Area, coming of age in the glorious 1990s. I’m fortunate to be able to travel, volunteer, climb, and write. Here are some questions people often ask me.

How long have you been climbing?

I first learned to climb in at age 15. It was 1994, and took an intro class with the Yosemite Mountaineering School. When I returned home, I tried climbing at the local gym, but climbing gyms in the 90s were dark, smelly, and not fun places for teenage girls to hang out. I settled for climbing outside once every couple of years while traveling, and didn’t try gym climbing again until 2013. In total, I’ve climbed in 6 states and 4 foreign countries.

What do you do for work?

After a successful career in tech, I’m now a volunteer board member for the Bay Area Climbers Coalition and the San Francisco Youth Baseball League. I also have two school-age kids with me half-time. I round out my time mostly with climbing and travel.

When did you get your van?

I bought my van in August 2016, and my amazing boyfriend drove it across the country for me from Florida to California.
